I want that summer glow, but face masks are expensive. Buying a one-time use mask at the store for $2-5 each can add up. I love the way my face feels after using a mask, but my college wallet can't afford to use them often.
I figured that there had to be a homemade version that is a cheaper alternative and after trying a few out, I crafted an extremely simple face mask recipe.
Lemon and honey have amazing benefits for the skin so I wanted to use them as the main ingredients. Little did I know I would be using only lemon and honey in the recipe.
Lemon is a great source of antioxidants, which can increase collagen production, lighten your complexion, and help reduce acne.
Honey acts as a gentle exfoliator, moisturizes the skin, and cleans your pores.
With these two powerful components, this face mask works wonders on any skin type and isn't harsh.
- 2 Tbsp raw honey
- Juice of half a lemon
Step 1: Combine honey and lemon.
Step 2: Apply all over face while avoiding eyes.
Step 3: Let the mask sit on skin for 20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
I recommend cooling the mixture in the fridge for 10-20 minutes before use, so the cold mask can help depuff the under eye area.
The mask doesn't leave a sticky residue and leaves the skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
