How to Veganize Boxed Brownies

So here's the deal, I love boxed brownies. I love them so much that I dream about making brownies while I sleep and yes I'm being serious.

With that being said, I try to stay true to a vegan diet at least five out of seven days a week, which can make my love of boxed brownies just sad and unfulfilled.

Then one day as I stayed up late studying for an exam, I had the brilliant idea to try to veganize a box of brownies. Now I'm not the first one to do this, but I wanted to share how incredible the results are.

Tip: There are several boxes of brownies that are vegan, but make sure to check the ingredients on the back of the box before using because some brands use powered milk.

Vegan Boxed Brownies That I Have Used:
  • Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownies
  • Betty Crocker Dark Chocolate Brownies

Now let's get to the recipe part of this blog.

Use apple sauce as an egg substitute (1/4 cup of applesauce equals one egg) and any non-dairy milk. Follow the directions on the box.

And BOOM done!

You can add a chocolate drizzle for aesthetic purposes or leave them plain.

I know, I know, that was not much of a recipe, but it's truly that easy. Just substitute any ingredients that aren't vegan and then you have a delicious and easy treat.

Let me know if any of you try this out for yourselves in the comment section below!
