I don't know anything

The concept of letting go has been on my mind a lot lately. I have thought about what it means and who I will be when I can accept and start the process. I have thought about why I need to let go of certain things to continue living a healthy, happy life. Most importantly, I have thought about what I need to let go of. 

The things I need to let go of:

A dream that hurts me

Being perfect

The girl people want me to be

My worries about the future

The past

My fears

Once I started my own journey of letting go and self love, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. For me it really felt like a soul cleanse because I have a new outlook on life. Now I am not saying this is a one and done task. It takes time and I am still in the process of letting go, but to me it is worth the effort.

If this isn't too happy hippie for you, I really recommend giving it a try. Make a list of the thoughts or actions that are holding you back. It could be other people, it could be a mind set, or it could even be physical objects. Write them down on a piece of paper, ball the paper up, and throw it away. If you are extra like me, you could even set the piece of paper on fire. The exercise may seem silly, but if your heart and mind are in on it, the process will really work. 

But what do I know, I am just a nineteen year old girl writing down her thoughts about the world around me
